Delete your CapFishs account
You can delete your account and data in the app, or ask us here. You don’t need the app installed.
In the app
Open CapFishs, go to the Me screen and tap Delete account. Your account closes right away, and your data is usually erased within minutes.
Never signed in? Then there’s no account to delete. Your catches live only on your phone, and your photos were deleted from our servers as soon as the fish was named and cut out. To also erase the few records we keep for your phone, like your fish-ID history, use the delete option on the Me screen.
What gets deleted
- Your account and its link to your Apple or Google sign-in
- Your catches, photos, fish cut-outs and cards
- Your spots and the days you logged as skunked
- Cards you shared, and their share images
- Your bite alert settings and your cloud AI consent records
What we keep
- Purchase records, as the law requires — no longer linked to your account
- Fish-ID logs without photos, no longer linked to your account, for up to 90 days
- A record that the account was deleted, with no personal details
- Copies in our backups, which expire within 90 days
What isn’t affected
- Your Apple or Google account itself
- Your CapFishs Pro subscription: cancel it in the App Store on iOS or Google Play on Android. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel it.
- What’s on your phone: deleting in the app clears it, or you can delete the app
Ask us to delete your account
No app, or can’t sign in? Send this form. We’ll email you within 7 days to confirm it’s you, and once it’s confirmed, we delete your account and data within 30 days.
